I've tried to answer the questions I hear most often. If yours isn't here, please just ask.
For weddings on the Gold Coast and Southeast Queensland, I recommend booking 9–12 months in advance, especially for peak season (October through April). Popular dates fill quickly.
For elopements and smaller ceremonies, bookings can often be arranged within a few weeks — always worth enquiring.
For funerals and memorials, please reach out immediately. I will do everything possible to accommodate your family's timeline and will prioritise urgent bookings.
Yes. I offer a free 20-minute discovery call for all wedding and elopement enquiries. This is a genuine, no-pressure conversation — I want to hear about your ceremony and you can get a sense of whether I'm the right fit for you. There is no obligation at all.
If I'm unavailable, I'll let you know immediately and can often recommend other celebrants I trust. I will never leave you without direction.
For weddings, we typically have: a discovery call, a main meeting where I gather your full story (in person or by video), ongoing contact as I write and refine your ceremony script, and a final check-in before the day. The exact number depends on what you need — some couples want lots of contact, others prefer minimal back-and-forth. I adapt to you.
Absolutely — and I love working with couples on their personal vows. I can give you complete freedom to write your own, prompts to get you started, or collaborative sessions where we refine them together. The legal words (monitum) are fixed, but everything else is entirely yours.
Yes — and this is one of the areas I care about most. My own background spans the Himalayan traditions of northern India and I have created ceremonies bridging cultural worlds throughout my career. Whether you want a tea ceremony, a ring warming, a traditional blessing, a reading from a sacred text, or a ritual specific to your heritage — I'll work to understand what it means before we include it. Civil ceremonies can hold almost anything meaningful to you.
A legal civil ceremony can be as brief as 5–7 minutes (the minimum required words only). A personalised ceremony with readings, vows, and rituals typically runs 20–35 minutes. A larger or more elaborate ceremony may run up to 45 minutes. I'll guide you on timing based on what you want to include.
The NOIM is a legal requirement in Australia. It must be lodged with your celebrant at least one calendar month before your ceremony (and no more than 18 months before). I will guide you through this paperwork completely — it's straightforward, and I handle all of it. You just need to provide proof of identity and any relevant divorce or death certificates if applicable.
A Justice of the Peace (JP) is authorised to witness statutory declarations, affidavits, certify documents, and provide a range of legal witnessing services. As both a registered celebrant and a JP, I can assist with any document witnessing needs you have before or after your ceremony — particularly useful for elopements or destination weddings where you may need various documents certified.
Yes. I am a registered Civil Marriage Celebrant with the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department. All marriages I officiate are legally recognised under the Marriage Act 1961.
Yes. I serve the Gold Coast, Tweed Coast, Byron Bay, Coolangatta, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and the surrounding hinterland regions as standard. For destination ceremonies — interstate, regional, or international — please enquire directly and I will let you know availability and travel costs.
For the most part, yes. Ceremonies can be held at registered wedding venues, private homes, parks, beaches, bushland, or any location meaningful to you. Some locations require council permits — I can advise you on this for your specific choice. For funerals, I conduct ceremonies at crematoriums, cemeteries, community halls, and private homes.
Every ceremony is different — in scope, location, and what it involves. Rather than publish a fixed price that may not reflect your specific ceremony, I prefer to provide a clear, personalised quote after our first conversation. Reach out with your date and ceremony type and I'll send you a clear investment figure within 24 hours.
What I can tell you: my fees reflect the full depth of service I provide — from first consultation to ceremony day. I am not a budget officiant, and I'm not the most expensive celebrant on the Gold Coast. I sit in the premium tier, and I believe the investment is worth it.
Yes. A booking deposit is required to secure your date. The remainder is invoiced closer to your ceremony. Full payment terms are outlined clearly in your contract.
The fastest way to get an answer is to reach out directly. I respond within 24 hours — usually much sooner.
